How to access Mabamba Swamp

It can be best accessed by boat tour or a canoe across Lake Victoria giving you an opportunity to see many of the birds that you may otherwise miss. Sometimes even the shoebill may elude you in the canoe.

The Swamp can also be accessed by road.

The shortest access route to the Swamp, of about 60 minutes is via Entebbe town and drive to Nakiwogo landing site then cross by the ferry to Buwaya landing. Thereafter drive for at least twenty minutes on a dirt road to Mabamba Bay Swamp for Bird watching Tour.

Wooden motorized boats are used to ride through the waterways to access different areas of the swamps while looking for the Shoe-bill, other water birds and also enjoy the panorama of the wetland outlay.
