8 Days Kenya Under Canvas

Luxury is the focus of this safari, allowing you to experience the true African bush in supreme comfort and style. With all the facilities of a first class hotel, the tented camps feature will exceed your expectations in every aspect Kenya under canvas is an exceptional safari, which has been designed to indulge the  most discerning and demanding Africa connoisseur.


You will be met on arrival and escorted to the Nairobi Serena/Nairobi Safari Club/Similar Hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure or chose from a selection of our optional excursions (book and pay locally). Overnight at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.


After breakfast, drive southeast to Tsavo West National Park (300km) arriving at the elegant Finch Hattons Camp in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive will introduce you to the beauty of one of Kenya’s largest national parks and its wildlife and includes a visit to Mzima Springs. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.


Early morning and late afternoon game drives give you the opportunity to further explore the area. Magnificent landscapes and an abundance of game provide a unforgettable experience. All meals and overnight at Finch Hattons Camp.

Nestling at the foot of the Chyulu Hills, is this conservation friendly luxury tented lodge, named after the aristocrat who introduced royalty to the bush. Set in 35 acres of unfenced African ‘bush’ the site is often visited by lions, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes and plains game. The generously appointed luxury tents are individually located around a series of freshwater hippo pools where guests can enjoy closeness to game and its natural habitat. The superb facilities include a fine secluded swimming pool, a quality restaurant and a pleasant public area and a bar.


After breakfast, proceed to Amboseli (180km). Amboseli lies on Kenya’s south eastern border close to Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy lunch at Tortilis camp before departing on a game drive through the national park. Dinner and overnight at the camp.


An early morning game drive allows you to become better acquainted with Amboseli and its wildlife. Wherever you travel within the park you will remain under the watchful gaze of the imposing Mount Kilimanjaro. The vast herds of elephants for which Amboseli is known, seem dwarfed by comparison. Return to Tortilis for breakfast and spend the remainder of the morning at leisure, enjoying your tranquil surroundings. After lunch, enjoy s second game drive. Dinner and overnight at the camp.


Transfer to Amboseli airfield where you will say ‘’Kwaheri’’ (goodbye) to your driver/ guide, and board the light aircraft for your flight to Wilson Airport, Nairobi (1hr), connecting with your flight to the Masai Mara (45mins). You will be met on arrival at Musiara Airfield and escorted to Governors’ in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive in a 4x4 wheel drive will introduce you to the diverse wildlife of the Masi Mara. Dinner and overnight at Governors’ Camp


An opportunity to enjoy an early morning balloon flight over the Mara, which includes a bubbly breakfast in the bush (optional extra), or an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the camp. An abundance of species dot the spectacular landscape, including the elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard and rhino. Lunch is served at the banks of Mara river, followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Governors’ Camp.


After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your light aircraft to Nairobi (1hr). You will be met on arrival before proceeding with your onward option.

Please note that baggage allowance on the light aircraft is restricted to 15kgs. Any additional luggage should be left at the safety of our office or at your hotel of stay.
